Rental income from an Indian property belongs to an NRI owner and can be received into an NRO account. Post the applicable TDS deduction by the tenant (under Section 195 for NRI landlords) and the filing of the relevant tax return, up to USD 1 million per financial year can be repatriated from the NRO account to an overseas account, subject to a Chartered Accountant's certification in Forms 15CA and 15CB per FEMA rules.
